JACKSON BROTHERS

WF MEDIA GROUP (WARNOCK FAMILY MEDIA GROUP) is currently seeking actors for their new scripted comedy-drama series “JACKSON BROTHERS.” The ten-episode series is created and written by Akintunde Warnock, Sr., who also co-stars and will direct every episode. The series will begin pre-production in December 2022 in Columbia. WFMG is currently finalizing distribution but expects the television series to be available in 2023.

The half-hour single-cam comedy-drama series tells the coming-of-age story of a fatherless teenager who lands a job cutting hair in a neighborhood barbershop owned by two brothers - who teach him the life skills needed to accompany his exceptional barbering talents. The series is not an autobiographical television series though it will borrow from key elements of Akintunde’s upbringing in Savannah Ga. The faith-based series will showcase the values of faith and manhood against the backdrop of a southern barbershop located in the heart of the African American community.

WFMG will oversee production end-to-end under its Oak View Point Films banner. Comedian and writer, Corie Johnson has been added to the writing team. Daniel Fisher will serve as Director of Photography. Casting will be overseen by Eunissa Warnock (The Assignment Agency) and Tangie Brickhouse Beatty (WOW Casting). Production Designer, Donna Johnson will work closely with Akintunde to create an authentic barber shop environment.

Akintunde is a 29-year comedian and writer with over 350 original television episodes as writing credits spanning “Showtime at the Apollo”, “The BET Awards”, “The Stellar Awards”, “The NAACP Image Awards”, and “The Monique Show”, just to name a few.
